BIOGRAPHY

Beatha Thomas Mkojera is an enthusiastic academician in the Department of Food Science and Agro-processing at Sokoine University of Agriculture.    She is result-oriented and a team player who believes in moving forward and succeeding together. Beatha’s passion and dream are to improve the nutrition and health status of toddlers and younger children in her country, Tanzania. She enjoys travelling and exploring newer innovative ideas that will increase the diversity and nutrient content of various foods.  Believing in teamwork spirit and innovation, Beatha is ready to join hands and work with others to improve the nutrition of many African children.

COMMUNITY SERVICE AND OTHER ENGAGEMENTS

2021: Principal Investigator in the project known as Urban micro-gardening that targeted to increase vegetable consumption among poor urban families located in Morogoro. The project was funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA)

2019: Research and knowledge dissemination on Quality, Microbiological and Chemical Safety of organically produced spices in Morogoro Rural District. This community awareness project was part of my Master’s dissertation under collaboration and sponsorship by Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania (SAT).
