BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Alex Wenaty is a Lecturer in the Department of Food Science and Agro- processing, School of Engineering and Technology of the Sokoine University of Agriculture. He teaches a number of courses for both undergraduate and postgraduate students including Introduction to Food Science, Food Physical Chemistry, Unit Operations in Food Processing, Materials Science for Food Technologists, Pilot Plant Processes, Plant and Equipment Layout and Maintenance and Food Sensory Evaluation.

Dr. Wenaty has carried a number of research projects related to risk assessment in the Food Value Chain including research activities related to agrochemicals and persistent organic pollutants in the fish value chain, pesticide residues in tomatoes and associated human health risks as well as heavy metal residues in water and sediments.
